Devices
Looking back at how much it took me to buy my first computer and what is lying around now the house...
This is what is lying around the house now
I am just trying to see what devices I have...*
Thinkpads
... from newest to the classiest...
- Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga Gen6 - main couch laptop
- Lenovo Thinkpad X220 - if the screen resolution would be here a bit better... planning also a IPS Display upgrade (even though HD only...)
- IBM Thinkpad T43 - when did you ran last time Windows 2000? :-) I have also Heroes of Might and Magic and Commandos 2 installed...
- IBM Thinkpad X41 - running Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE), but I am strongly considering switching it to Windows XP... nevertheless up to day and connected to Internet. DosBox lives on and so does Wine... looking for the best DOS games...
Laptops
- Lenovo Legion Slim 5 14APH8 - main gaming laptop
- Lenovo Lenovo Legion 5 15ACH - ex gaming laptop (now my sons)
- Lenovo V14 G3 IAP Lapop Type 82TS - my sons ex school laptop, looking for a purpose...
- Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming - my sons ex gaming laptop (now under repair due to broken start button)
- HP Elitebook 820 G3 - alive, kicking and running Linux, serving as our "storage laptop" for www.viavinum.at
Thin Clients
- Fujitsu Futro S740 - looking for a scope. Idea as Home Assistant Server / Display Server in the storage or as secondary server for non primary self hosted services: I am just looking to have a (hardware) separation and to allow more room for mistakes for the non-essential services...
- Step Micro DS190P - this is my last finding: based on the same architecture as the Fujitsu Futro S740 but with much more open and potent: 2 additional SATA Ports, 1 internal USB 3.0 port and so on. It seems to be actually a "Fujitsu Futro S740 build on demand" lacking only the red line and the Fujitsu logo...
- Dell Wyse 5070 - looking for the same CPU as the one in the Fujitsu Futro S740 found this model. Combined with the fact that they offer 2 slots of RAM (RAM is pricey nowadays...) and build it eMMC it makes it very very interesting for a mini home server.
- Dell Wyse 3040 - From 5070 got also to 3040 and remembered how many white hairs the Atom CPUs made me. Not in a Thin Client format though: the 2-in-1 from Lenovo that were equipped with this CPUs were a pain in the a$$: such a beautiful devices, such a bad performance. The thin clients on the other hand can handle one task and can handle it good.
Tiny Computers
- Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q - super upgraded / on steroids (i9-9700T, 32GB, 2 SSDs, etc) - planned to be home test server.
SOC
- Raspberry Pi 400 (DE Layout)
- (minimum) 2x Raspberry Pi 3 Model B
- 2x Raspberry Pi 4 CM Module
- 2x Raspberry Pi 0
- 2x Raspberry Pi 0 v2
Computers
Other Devices
- Steam Deck LCD - if it runs Linux, it counts! :-)

What devices did Vlad had
- HP T620 - sold on willhaben.at (2025-11-13) as Raspberry Pi replacement with Home Assistant preinstalled. Config: 2x4GB RAM, 256GB M.2 SATA SSD, WLAN Intel 6200. Price: 50€
- HP T630 -
looking for a scope Home Assistant installed and it found a new owner. Very versatile thin client and this is one of the ones that I regret selling... but hoarding is not an option...
- HP T520 -
looking for a scope Home Assistant installed and it found a new owner. I have found another couple of them on the flea market and flipped them easily due to having some spare parts at home. This seems to be a very good replacement for a Raspberry Pi 4 and compares with one almost 1-to-1.
- HP EliteDesk 705 G4 -
preparing to be listed sold on willhaben.at as Home Server
- Zotac ID92 Plus (2x) -
preparing to be listed sold on willhaben.at as Raspberry Pi replacement / Home Assistant or Home Server. Very interesting devices! Weak point in the CPU but otherwise very potent of a mini-home-server!
- Lenovo ThinkCentre M700 - super upgraded / on steroids (i7-6700T, 32GB, 2 SSDs, etc)
planned to be home test server sold on willhaben due to an upgrade to a M720q.
- Fujitsu Futro S540 -
listed sold on willhaben.at as Raspberry Pi replacement / Home Assistant or Home Server. Very elegant device!
